Custom Activewear & Sportswear Manufacturer for Fitness Brands
Develop custom activewear around the fabric performance, fit, stretch recovery, support, construction and activity requirements of your collection — from yoga and gym wear to running apparel, tennis, pickleball, seamless programs and coordinated activewear sets.
Custom Activewear Manufacturing – for Performance & Lifestyle Brands
Activewear development requires more than selecting a stretch fabric. Fabric recovery, opacity, support, seam construction, fit, movement, moisture management and garment structure all need to work together according to the intended activity.
Minghang Garments supports cut-and-sew and seamless activewear development for yoga, gym training, running, racket sports and lifestyle collections. We work with brands from fabric selection and pattern development through sampling, branding, bulk production and quality control, with each program developed around its performance requirements, target market and production scale.
Activewear Categories We Manufacture
We design and manufacture activewear as a complete performance system, not isolated products:
Activewear Engineering Details That Matter
Activewear production is complex—small errors in fabric or fit can completely change performance. We solve these challenges with engineering-level control.
Activewear fabrics behave differently under repeated stretch and movement. We evaluate stretch direction, recovery, GSM, opacity where relevant, hand-feel and intended performance before confirming the material for sampling.
Yoga wear, gym apparel, running products and courtwear require different levels of ease, compression and coverage. Pattern development considers the intended activity rather than applying one standard athletic fit across every category.
Flatlock, overlock, coverstitch, bonded finishes, liners, gussets and other constructions are selected according to fabric stretch, garment structure, movement and comfort requirements.
When developing activewear sets or multi-style collections, fabrics, colors, trims, branding and fit direction can be coordinated across tops, bras, leggings and shorts while each garment is still engineered for its own function.
Custom Activewear Manufacturing Services
Activewear is not just apparel—it is engineered performance wear. We customize every component to match your brand requirements.
We source and develop nylon/spandex, polyester/spandex, stretch woven, mesh, cotton blends and other performance materials according to activity, support, recovery, hand-feel, breathability and finishing requirements.
Waistbands, liners, cups, elastic, gussets, pockets, zippers and ventilation details are developed according to the garment category and intended activity.
Flatlock, coverstitch, and bonded seam techniques designed to reduce friction and improve durability during high movement activity.
We develop and grade patterns according to the intended size range, adjusting garment proportions, rise, inseam, coverage, compression and ease according to each product category rather than simply scaling every measurement uniformly.
Branding options include stretch-compatible heat transfers, silicone logos, screen printing, sublimation for compatible polyester fabrics, selected embroidery placements, jacquard details, woven labels and custom trims.
Samples are reviewed for fit, construction, material behavior and product-specific requirements before bulk approval. Brands can also perform activity-specific wear testing where required.

How to Work with a Custom Activewear Manufacturer
Activewear development typically moves through technical review, material selection, sampling, approval, bulk production and final quality control. Each stage is used to confirm the variables that affect performance and fit before the project moves forward.
Scale Activewear Production with Consistent Specifications and QC
Our 12,000 m² manufacturing center supports activewear and sportswear production with automated spreading and cutting, specialized sewing equipment, intelligent overhead hanging production and multi-stage quality control.
Our 2,000 m² sample and development center supports pattern development, sample sewing, material review and technical coordination before bulk production. Different activewear categories — from sports bras and leggings to running tops, shorts and courtwear — are planned according to their own fabric, construction and process requirements.
With 300+ skilled workers and production capacity of up to 500,000 pcs per month across our apparel categories, we support initial bulk orders and repeat programs according to confirmed capacity, material readiness and process complexity.

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Activewear Manufacturing
Can't find your answer? Contact us directly and we'll reply within one business day.
-
1.What is the MOQ for custom activewear?
For standard cut-and-sew activewear using available fabrics, MOQ starts from 100 pcs per style per color. Custom-developed fabrics or custom dyeing generally require 300–500 pcs per color, depending on the material and process. Seamless activewear typically starts from 500 pcs per style, color and size because of yarn allocation, knitting setup and machine programming.
-
2.Can you develop a complete activewear collection?
Yes. We can coordinate multi-style activewear collections including sports bras, leggings, shorts, tops, sets and selected outer layers. Fabrics, colors, trims and branding can be aligned across the collection while each garment is developed according to its own fit and functional requirements.
-
3.Do you support more sustainable activewear material options?
Yes. Depending on the project, we can source recycled polyester, recycled nylon, organic cotton blends and other lower-impact material options. Where certified materials are required, available GRS, GOTS or other applicable documentation should be confirmed according to the specific fabric and order.
-
4.How long does activewear sampling take?
Standard cut-and-sew activewear samples typically take around 7–10 working days, depending on fabric availability and construction complexity. Seamless or more complex developments may take longer because of yarn selection, knitting structure, programming or additional fit revisions.
-
5.What fabrics are commonly used for custom activewear?
Common options include nylon/spandex, polyester/spandex, stretch woven fabrics, mesh and selected cotton blends. The right fabric depends on stretch, recovery, support, opacity, hand-feel, moisture management, activity and target price.
-
6.Can you produce both cut-and-sew and seamless activewear?
Yes. Cut-and-sew construction offers broad flexibility in fabrics, panels, trims and garment structures, while seamless production uses circular knitting to create integrated knit structures and reduced seam counts. Seamless programs follow different development and MOQ requirements.
-
7.Can you develop activewear based on a reference sample?
Yes. If you own or are authorized to use the reference, our technical team can review its measurements, fit, material behavior and construction as development references and create specifications for your own product.
-
8.How long does bulk activewear production take?
Bulk production generally takes around 25–45 days after sample approval, material confirmation and production scheduling. Custom fabrics, seamless programs, complex processes or large multi-style orders may require additional time.
Activewear Manufacturing Resources
The global activewear market is shifting toward performance-driven and creator-led brands.
Three major trends are shaping the industry:
- Creator-led fitness brands are becoming dominant, requiring fast and flexible manufacturing systems.
- Seamless activewear is becoming a premium standard in performance and athleisure categories.
- Sustainability is now a baseline expectation, not a differentiation factor.
- Manufacturers that cannot adapt to these shifts will lose competitiveness in global supply chains.
Partnering with a manufacturer that combines cut-and-sew precision, functional liner engineering, and in-house seamless capability ensures activewear that perform reliably across training, travel, and everyday wear.
