Fabric shade variation may not be visible under one light source but become obvious under another—a phenomenon known as metamerism. That’s why we compare bulk fabric against approved references under standardized D65 lighting before cutting. Catching shade variation at this stage helps prevent visible color differences between garment panels in bulk production.

What We Inspect:

After cutting, garment panels are checked for dimensions, shape accuracy, alignment marks, fabric direction and cut-edge quality before they are released to sewing. This helps identify cutting errors before they become fit, assembly or appearance problems during stitching.

Minghang’s Pro Tip: Why Cut Panel Relaxation Is Easily Overlooked

Some stretch and loosely knitted fabrics can relax and contract after cutting. A panel that measures correctly immediately after cutting may change slightly after resting, which can affect the final garment dimensions. For relevant fabrics, we allow panels to relax before measurement and use fabric relaxation data when confirming cutting allowances. This helps reduce sizing variation before sewing begins.

What We Inspect:

During sewing, in-line QC checks are carried out at key production stages to identify workmanship and assembly issues while garments are still in process. Inspectors review stitching, seam construction, thread tension, trim attachment and operator workmanship so problems can be corrected before they are repeated across a larger production batch.

Slightly unbalanced thread tension may not be obvious during a quick visual check. Problems can become more noticeable when a seam is stretched, handled or washed, resulting in puckering, loose loops or thread breakage. During in-line inspection, representative seams are checked on both the face and underside of the garment so tension issues can be corrected before the same sewing condition is repeated across the batch

Decoration & Finishing Inspection

Quality Control for Printing, Embroidery, Washes & Specialty Finishes

What We Inspect:

Decoration and finishing processes are inspected against approved samples before garments move to final QC. Depending on the product, these processes may be applied to cut panels before sewing or to semi-finished and finished garments after assembly.
Inspection points vary by technique and may include print color and placement, embroidery quality, heat-transfer adhesion, rhinestone attachment, wash and dye consistency, surface finishing, and any process-related fabric damage.

Pre-Sewing Decoration: Printing & Embroidery on Cut Panels

Decoration techniques such as screen printing, DTG, DTF, heat transfer and embroidery may be applied to cut panels before sewing. Decorated panels are checked against the approved strike-off, artwork or embroidery sample before they are released to assembly.We conduct 100% inspection of these panels to ensure full compliance with the approved sample.

Printing, embroidery and other decoration processes are often completed in batches, and small variations in heat, pressure, ink coverage or machine settings can affect the final appearance. That’s why we compare representative decorated panels or garments side by side under consistent lighting and against the approved sample. Checking batch consistency before assembly or final production helps prevent visible differences within the same order.

Post-Sewing Finishing: Garment Washes & Specialty Treatments

After sewing, garments may undergo additional finishing processes such as garment washing, dyeing, distressing, spray effects, rhinestone application and other specialty treatments. These processes can affect color, dimensions, hand-feel, trims and overall garment appearance, so finished garments are checked against the approved reference before final QC.

What We Inspect:

Before shipment, clients may arrange an independent third-party inspection through organizations such as SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or QIMA.
The inspection is conducted according to the buyer’s agreed AQL level, product specifications and inspection requirements. It provides an independent assessment of product quality, measurements, workmanship, labeling and packaging before shipment release.
