Our ODM Development Process

We don’t start from a blank page — we start from yours. You bring the ideas, sketches, mood boards, AI-generated concepts, or even just a written description. Our pattern makers and technical team — with decades of experience in activewear, streetwear, and fashion pieces — translate your vision into precise patterns, fabric specifications, and physical samples. We don’t design for you; we design with you, turning your creative direction into production-ready garments. This approach allows brands without an in-house design team to launch collections confidently while maintaining complete creative control.

Concept Clarification & Technical Feasibility Assessment

You send us whatever you have — hand sketches, reference images from social media, AI-generated designs, mood board collages, or even a note describing what’s in your head. No professional format needed. Our technical team reviews your materials and returns a “technical translation”: recommended fabric weights and compositions, preliminary silhouettes, construction suggestions (e.g., “that oversized drop-shoulder effect works best with 380gsm french terry at X angle”), and an initial cost estimate.

Pattern Making & Fabric Curation

Once the direction is locked, our pattern makers draft the first patterns. Simultaneously, we source physical fabric swatches and trims that match your target price and performance needs — nylon/spandex blends for yoga, heavyweight cotton for streetwear, functional finishes for activewear. You review and approve the materials before the first stitch is sewn.

Proto Sampling

Approved materials and patterns move to our 2,000m² sample development center. Proto samples are sewn by our team to bulk production standards — what you see in the prototype is what you’ll get in bulk. We ship samples to you for fit and design review.

Revision & Pre-production Confirmation

Your feedback comes in. Minor adjustments are implemented in a pre-production (PP) sample directly on the bulk line, skipping unnecessary multiple rounds of sampling. For more complex revisions, we adjust the pattern and produce a revised sample within 8-12 working days.

Tech Pack Lock & Production Handover

Once you approve the final sample, we lock the complete tech pack — graded specs, fabric and trim details, construction notes, and measurements. This becomes the single source of truth for bulk production, handed over seamlessly to our 14,000m² intelligent manufacturing floor.

Custom Branding Support

Your brand identity lives in every label, hangtag, zipper pull, and package. Minghang integrates full custom branding into both OEM and ODM workflows — custom main labels, care labels, hangtags, poly bags, shipping mailers, zipper pullers with your logo, branded drawcord ends, and woven tape. One roof, one timeline, no scattered suppliers.

OEM Production Workflow

When you already have tech packs and approved designs, our OEM workflow is streamlined for speed and precision — no design iteration, only execution.

Tech Pack Review & Costing

Send us your complete tech pack. Our specialists check for manufacturability, fabrics, trims and decoration techniques, and provide you with transparent line-item quotation within hours.

Material Sourcing & Preparation

Once confirmed and sample fees are settled, we begin sourcing your specified fabrics and trims immediately. Our parallel procurement strategy means materials are often in-house before the pattern is finalized — eliminating the typical “ waiting for fabric” delay.

Proto Sample & PP Sample

We produce an initial sample for your approval. F or styles needing only minor tweaks, we move directly to a PP sample — crafted on the bulk line using bulk fabrics — for your final approval.

Bulk Production with Integrated QC

Bulk production runs on our smart manufacturing floor with the intelligent hanging system. Our 5+1 step QC system is embedded throughout the whole production process, not just at the end, ensuring consistent quality at every stage.

Finishing, Packing & Shipping

Approved garments are trimmed, pressed, folded, tagged, and packed per your specifications. Our pre-shipment team conducts a random 5% carton audit the day after packing before releasing the shipment.

IP Protection & Confidentiality

Your designs, your tech packs, your brand identity — they belong to you. Full stop.

Before any design information is shared, we sign a comprehensive NDA covering all design files, technical specifications, client databases, and production details. Your designs are stored in segregated client folders with access restricted to the project team handling your account. We never repurpose client designs, never share your tech packs, and never use your brand assets without explicit permission. For ODM clients, any design developed specifically for your brand becomes your exclusive property. You own the patterns, the specs, and the production rights.
